PE

Our PE programme develops fitness, skills, teamwork and enjoyment of sport across all year groups. Built around progression through a range of activities, it aims to keep pupils active, healthy and confident in movement, with opportunities to participate in both competitive and cooperative experiences.

Key focus areas

  • Fundamental movement and fitness: balance, coordination, ball skills, running, jumping and throwing to build a strong physical foundation.

  • Sport-specific skills: attacking, defending, shooting, passing, catching, dribbling, swimming, tennis, athletics, rounders, cricket, netball, basketball, badminton, tennis, and more.

  • Personal and social skills: teamwork, communication, resilience, fair play and leadership.

  • Wellbeing and inclusivity: age-appropriate activities that cater for all abilities; emphasis on safety, warm-ups, cooling down and injury prevention.

  • OAA and cross-curricular links: outdoor and adventurous activities to develop problem-solving, decision-making and collaboration.

Structure and delivery
